Bows!

So I'm back, the bar code nail art went over really good, everyone loved it!

now time for my bows!

I've been wanting to do them for the longest time but knew it had to be precise and look good so here's my best attempt!

my left thumb i screwed up so you can still see the pink under the outlining but oh wellz!!!

Barcode time!

So I had this great idea to do barcode on my nails.

I loooove it hehe!

wouldn't it be cool if it scanned!

The base colour was supposed to be nude but i put 3 layers on and it turned it white. :) Saved me some money to buy white polish!

Fun times!

So you will notice my nails are a lot shorter then usual, because the length started getting in the way with work, they started stress cracking and i am running low on my Fiberglass Nail Mesh i use for an overlay on my natural nails so i gotta keep my nails shortish until i can find some place that sells the stuff i like or if i can find it on eBay!

So anyhoo had some time before work last week and spent it at Shoppers Drug Mart scouring for any deals on polishes. Well I did find two GOSH brand polishes for $5 each! SCOREEEE!!! I think they are normally like more expensive?? dunno!

Anyway,

found a picture online w the the tips "laced" but i thought I'd try "lacing" the whole nail...

Sorry about the polish on the skin. did this at like midnight and really wasn't focused on cleaning the edges.

 I then changed up the polish bc it started chipping at the tips so i had found a cool design online and took tried to copy it the best i could... i think its fun! cant wait to try it with different colours for the swipes!!

Bummed (No pic post)

So the Riders bit it hard losing to Calgary Stampeders - 45-35. Glad they forgot they had a game to play today... now they are 1-6 for the season. 

So my nails didn't bring luck. Thank god for new polish to slap over top! 

I will post the pics tomorrow if i'm not too bagged from work!

PS looking forward to suggestions for nail art designs. so far i've gotten painting my nails like a circus big top and taking a pic with an elephant under my hands... hehe :) might be a project in the near future!!

Toenail Art!

So I've decided that once a month... or once every two months... depending on how fast my toe nails grow and the polish stays, I'm gonna do a Toenail Art entry!

And just a warning... these photos are not for the squeemish... I have horrible toes! Barely any toenails and busted up toes... haha...

I've had the same colour on my toes for MONTHS, so now that it was pretty much ALL off I decided to use my new polish i bought today from Zellers on my toes! With a little swirl of black nail art pen and a flower decal from Dollarama!

Please excuse the rank tan line on my feet... i still have my old thin sandal tan from last year and a new thicker one over top lol!

My art today was a two parter - I ran out of time this AM before work to put details on my nails so I went around with just my blank nails then tonight after everyone is in bed i put the "swipes" on!

Happy me! I found my green sparkly nail pen/brush I got from Cosmoprof ages ago! Still works! :)

Greatest thing about Hologram, the base colour i used, is that it look matte, yet has wicked Holographic colour in it!

My left pinkie kept twitching so it was impossible to make the swipes look good :(

But turned out so well I am VERY pleased!

Tomorrow I am going shopping with my kiddo, I might just be searching for new colours! Lord knows I have like 50 shades of pink (slight exaggeration), I need to expand my polish repertoire, and I want to try to find fine tip brushes for more nail art!

I think once in a while I will let my son pick the colours and design for my nails and see how that goes :)

Now time for me to go relax!

Welcome to my first post in my Nail Art Blog...

I will appologise first off for some poor quality lighting in the photos, but hopefully you get the idea :)

I try to do all free hand but who knows I may add in some sticker decals or gems...

My first attempt at nail art is the "Stained Glass" look, I didn't have a proper nail art brush or nail art pen, so I had to do the black with one of my tiny acrylic paint brushes, so the line COULD be cleaner!

 I had bought some new OPI polish and loved it in the bottle, and apparently it is from Katy Perry's polish line (did not know that when i bought it!), when I put it on my nails, it just looked too... *yawn* almost too silver, tho it does have purple and green hue to it, so i took my nail art pen and did some swirls and such... some of the lines are thicker bc my pen got plugged and it poured too much out :(
